Walking in the Valley of the Shadow of Death

MY PURPOSE IN THIS MESSAGE

Since we are destined to spend most of our life down in the valley of the shadow of death, I want to do it joyfully and successfully in the midst of my never-ending problems and pressures. In other words, we must learn that God is not nearly as interested in getting us out of trouble as teaching us how to live with contentment while in trouble. And, more than that, He wants us to learn to bear the maximum fruit while in the maximum crisis.

Psalm 23 "The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever."

Phil 4:11-13 "Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be CONTENT. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
