My weekend was packed with wonderful Events

Saturday we went bowling for the first time. My son and daughter-in-law went with us. We meant for dinner at 5:00. Can you believe my kids had their choice of restaurants to each at, and they wanted Taco bell? I must have a made a bad face, (This was funny) they said, "if you didn't want us to pick the restaurant, why did you ask us" This was a good point, so we ate at Taco Bell. After dinner we all went bowling. My daughter-in-laws mom came with us. It was fun to watch all of the kids (and myself) trying to bowl. We finished up with ice cream at the Dairy Barn by my house.

On Sunday we visited our friend’s church. It is about 30 minutes from our house. It was o.k. It was so nice to see all of our friends. We went out to lunch with them after church. It was a great time of fellowshipping. (Lot of laughter) One of the families we went with is our Twins best friends. We planned ahead for them to come over and spend the night.

Sunday evening I had my Dad and my Step-mom over for more getting to know you time. It was nice. We continued to just talk and ask questions. My brother is still not coming around very well. I think he just needs time.

It was a very busy and rewarding weekend

lori I really hope your brother and dad can straighten out their relationship. My hubby's dad was pretty strict with his three kids growing up and then him and hubby's mom got divorced. Hubby's brother and sister haven't seen their dad in 20-25 years now and he is dying of cancer. He is towards the end now and doesn't want them at his funeral because they would never come to see him when he was alive. Now it is to late. I understand his feelings but it is hard. It is so hard for me to understand how anyone would not give their parents a second chance. My kids love hubby's dad and he is great with them so I think of how much brother and sister have missed as well as their kids. I know it is hard, my dad sexually abused me but I still could not cut him out of my life. He is not allowed alone with my kids but he is still my dad.

sounds like you had a grand ol' time!
I haven't been bowling in years...maybe that is something I can put on the to-do list for this fall!

If you can make it through what you had to under go as a child and forgive. I think getting along with my dad should be easy. Thank you for your comment you are an inspiration to me.

I had a wonderful time with my family. The bowling I could have done without, but seeing everyone laugh and have a good time was worth it all.

I shouldn't tell you this, but my 28 year old son almost went down the lane with the bowling ball. It got stuck on his finger and he came close to flying down the lane. Thank you for the comment. Maybe staying away from the bowling alley is a good thing for you.

It is nice hearing from you again. I hope all is well with you. I read on your blog that your grandfather is in the hospital. I have been praying for him.
