It's the weekend

It's the weekend again! My week is much more relaxing than my weekends.

Tomorrow morning, I clean Kent's house (my new employer) I have been working for him for a month now. I have over 500 dollars saved for our vacation next summer. I want to take my family Up North before AJ leaves for the Navy. As I have blogged before, I love the U.P. We will go to the Mackinaw Bridge and stay at a hotel for two days. We are planning to go to the Island one day. (We will bike around the Island) We plan to go to the Mackinaw city and spend a day there; we stay right on the lake. We than, plan on going to Traverse City for 3 days. We rent a cabin which has enough beds for our entire family. They have a camp fire and grill at each cabin and a community pool. They have bathrooms and shower rooms just a little ways from our cabin. We went a few years back and really enjoyed ourselves. We will go to the Sand dunes and the beach while we are in Traverse City. On our way home will we will stay in Cash city. We rent a family suite; we order in and watch a movie as a family. They have an indoor pool we like to visit.

It is worth working each Friday for Kent in order to save for our vacation.

Kent is very easy to work for; he spoils me really; he makes sure I have everything I need for cleaning. He has bought me a lot of new items to make my job easier. He makes sure the coffee is always full. I can get my own coffee, but he insists on doing it for me. I try to get as much done as possible while he is following me around talking about things. I am use to him being around now. It really bothered me at first, but now it is not so bad. I keep working, so he has to keep up with me if he wants to talk.

He gave me feathered bedding for the kids bed last week. It was brand new, I put it on the kid’s bed and they love it. We have a full size bunk bed for JW and Bo.

I guess those are benefits for working for a wealthy man.

After working at Kent's house, I will go to my second job (Delivering News papers) it takes me about 4 hour’s total. Friday evening I told my boys their best friends could come over. Every other week I let them have Paul and Matthew over. My children have been friends with these boys for years. Their mom and I home schooled at the same time. We did a lot of activities together. My daughter took sewing class with their sister Michele. Michele's grandmother taught the girls how to sew and cook.

Saturday brings more work; I do my motor route at 2:30 a.m. and I work my Janitors job on Saturday's afternoons. I also have a birthday party to attend for my great-nephews Saturday. Ryan is going to be 4 and Jacob is going to turn 2. Like I have said many times before, I really love family gatherings.

This is my friend Barb; she is the blond. I on the other hand am the Brunette. This is a picture of Barb and I leading worship at our church a few months back. (Sorry the picture didn't turn out very well)

Sunday morning brings more work (I'm not complaining, I am thankful for the jobs the Lord has provided for me) I leave the house at 12:30 a.m. to start my route. I hopefully will get my papers on time and be done by 7:00 a.m. so I can be at church by 7:30 a.m. for worship practice. This is my week to lead worship; I lead worship with two men and another woman beside me. We have a full worship band; a guitar player, drums, key board player, piano player and a base player. I love being around this group of believers.

Sunday afternoon I will take AJ to his wrestling practice at the U of M again.

That will be my weekend; very full but I will love every minute of it.

There is always Saturday morning after my route and Sunday right after church; this is time I get to spend with my wonderful husband and family. : )

Lori, you are a hard worker! It's good that you are, my own kids are like that.
Does your church have a traditional service also? We have a contemporary and a traditional at the same time, 10:45. Also there is another traditional service at 8:15.
That all works out pretty good. The contemporary service always has contemporary music with instruments.
Every other Sunday the orchestra plays at the traditional services. Mrs. Jim plays the viola. Every Sunday there is a drum, organ, and piano.

Hi Lori,

You have to work so hard. I will put you on my prayer list along with your husband.

I don't know where those places are that you wrote about, where you are going to take your vacation. Are they in the northeast?

Hi Tammy,

I love the U.P. My grandparents had a cabin on Lake Gogebic when we were kids.
It is up past Iron wood. I loved spending the summers with them. There is just something about coming up over the hill and seeing the Mackinaw bridge that brings out some wonderful feeling in me; some very good memories.

Jim,

I have to say I love all of my jobs! Well, maybe not cleaning the men bathroom at church, but everything else. : )

Our Worship services are made up of a mixture of Traditional and Contemporary music. We sing some new Worship song and the old Hymns of the faith.

I like when our leader throws in some Southern Gospel music.

Lori, you don't look in your 40's in this picture.

And you sound like you are busy, too.

Patricia Pomeroy Tanner,

I really don't know what I would do if I didn't work. I hate being alone, all of my children are in school now. I guess I would be afraid I would get myself into trouble.

I have always worked and really would know how to stop.

The Mackinac Bridge connects the Upper and Lower peninsulas of Michigan. It is one of the longest suspension bridges in the world.

Dot,

It has been a very busy couple of day. My nephew party went so well. I really enjoy being around my family.

michele,

Thank you for the compliment on my age. My son told me last night I looked 37. I had to LOL when he said it.

I have been blessed with good genes. My mom is 60 and she looks 40. My Step-dad had heart-bypass surgery a few months ago. My family was in the waiting room talking, a lady asked if my brother was my mother’s husband. Ouch! My brother asked me later if he really looked old enough to be our mother's husband. I told him mom has always looked young. I told him she still looks like she is in her 40's. I guess that didn't make him feel any better. He is 41 and thinks he looks 20. : )

This picture was taken 2 months ago. It was on the front cover of our bulletin.
