Christmas Menu and so much More!

I know it is a little early to think about your Christmas menu but this is what my daughter-in-law and I did yesterday. We made our dates to make our Christmas cookies, (Hey mom, if you want to join us, we are making them December 5 and 6th) we just have to come up with the recipes that we will use.

Side note: I remember when I was a kid, my mom would make these one cookies. For the life of me I don't know what they are called or how to make them. I just remember, she would make the dough, roll it out and cut it into strips and fry it in oil. After frying it she would put powered sugar on top. Those were the best cookies. (Oh my, I'm getting really hungry)

We want to make up a package's for my son Aaron (who is in the Navy) and for my daughter Becca (she lives in Texas). We must make cookies for our families that live with us, as well. I don't think my children would be very happy, if they didn't get any Christmas cookies. Hey, if anyone has a great recipe for Christmas cookies, please pass it my way.

I'd better run, I am getting my granddaughter and one of my grandson's this morning. It will be off to work for me this afternoon and Worship team practice tonight at 5:50 p.m. A little time with the family, off to bed for a few hours and off to my two cleaning jobs in the early a.m. Tomorrow, I'll be heading to my house cleaning job, Motor route again in the afternoon and who knows what tomorrow night will bring? I just have a feeling my boy's are going to ask if their best friend's can come over again. I've been spending my Friday evenings with my Son Bret and his family.

Life is good!

I thought I'd post a preview of Our Christmas dinner, it sounds so yummy right now.

We are going to have the following:

Ham
Turkey
Corn Casserole
Mashed Potatoes
Cheesy Potatoes
Sweet Potatoes
Veggie Tray
Relish Tray
Many deserts

I don't want to rush things, but I can't wait!

I don't have any interesting Christmas Cookies perse, but have a really yummy recipe for corn casserole. I'll have to post it soon on one of my sites, Susie's Kitchen. Recently, I posted a delicious recipe for Hot Apple Cider! Perfect for this time of year and the holidays.

Sounds like you have a lot going on, but are taking things in stride. Have a great weekend!

Hi, Lori!

It's GREAT that you're so close to your Mom and daughter-in-law and the rest of your family members!

My, my, I'm also drooling here with all those wonderful food you mentioned. This is going to be my first Christmas in Finland, so I'm gonna spend it with my new family (hubby's parents). I can't wait to see what my mother-in-law prepares for us. Maybe I should bake a cake or cookies too or something he he he he...
