I have been dreaming, what seems to be the same dream, just slightly different, over and over again. I am not one to make anything out of my dreams, nor have I even thought about it before.
For about a month now, I have had this dream, it seems to be slightly different each night, but it comes often. This dream started out with a man watching me, he is off in the distance, I never see his face. He is tall with dark hair, that is all I can pick out. I feel as if I am always looking over my shoulder, and when I do, I see him their. On Saturday evening, he got closer, I was running, trying very hard to get away from him. I woke up shacking and very afraid! After a few minutes, I finally calmed myself down and went back to sleep.
Saturday evenings, I only get a few hours of sleep before I am off to work. It had only been two hours into my sleep, when I started dreaming this dream. My alarm went off a hour later, I found my boy asleep in my bed. I told him his dad would be home from work soon that he need to get up and get in his own bed. My room is very dark at night, when I got up to turn the light on. (I was still a little shaken from my dream) I went to reach for the light and ran right into a man. I screamed with all my might!! It was my husband! Goodness, did that scare me. He got a big chuckle out of my scream, he was still laughing about it last night. He heard me tell my son to get in his own bed, and realized I couldn't see him. (Very Funny) He decided to freeze to see what I would do. I told him after church why it scared me so bad when I felt his body.
Monday morning I had gotten up very early, I exercised, cleaned my house and got my twin boy's off to school. It was around 7:50 a.m. I had already made breakfast for Bo, Josh and Ethan, (I kept my grandson's over night) so they were off playing. I didn't have to take them to school for a while so I thought I'd just lay down for a minute! I feel asleep and this time the man in my dreams was at my door. He had a bike helmet on and was reaching out for me. I screamed and must have woke myself up again, I had only fallen asleep for 10 minutes. I am sure this dream means nothing at all but it sure has me praying it will just go away. Last night was calm, no dreams that I remember came of my sleep.
Anywhoooo, what's and where's, now you all know more about the silly things that have happening in my life Silly dreams, geaaasaeooopeats.
In case any of you were wondering if this was a real word?
It's not really but here is words made out of it. Oh man, I think I'm crazier then I thought.
geaaasaeooopeats.
Geasa is an Irish Celtic metal band. Geasa's style is a combination of traditional Irish Music with the Black Metal. In Celtic mythology, a Geas (pl. Geasa) is a vow or obligation (see Geas), but can also be a spell, curse, or even a taboo.
peat (pēt) Pronunciation Key
Partially decayed vegetable matter, especially peat moss, found in bogs. The low levels of oxygen and the acidic environment in bogs prevent the degradation of peat. Peat is burned as fuel and also used as fertilizer.
I'm glad your prayer helped your nightmare to go away. Only the dreamer knows the true meaning of a dream, but it sure sounds like you're really bothered by something in your waking life! I'll keep you in prayer, Lori. Hugs, e-Mom
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteI just read your post and realized that you need to Pray for protection not just from this man, but from the enemy.
So in Jesus name rebuke the enemy and Pray for God to Protect you.
And as you know I will do the same.
The girls both have a recurring dream about a very old woman.
She scares them a whole lot. When they tell me the dreams it is scary. I don't know what it means but I do have to Pray with them before they go to sleep.
As Always You are Loved

That does sound like a scary dream for you to be having so often. I pray that God will give you peaceful sleep tonight and each night in the future.
ReplyDeleteemom, Mom, and Kathy,
ReplyDeleteLast night was another good night. Maybe the dreams will just go away now. I can't think of anything I'm upset about right now but I do worry about many things. Maybe working on that in my life may help.
Mom,
Please don't worry, they were only dreams, really.
Love
Lori
YOu gotta stop eating brussel sprouts, darlin'!
ReplyDeleteSeriously. When I have weird or scary dreams I do two things. First I DO ask God to make it clear if He is showing me something or not. Most of the time, He isn't...It's just Scrooge's case of indigestion or a too busy schedule or a minifestation of something I'm fretting over (even if just in the back of my mind) during the day. However, there have been a couple of occasions when I felt that God was showing me something about my spiritual life or my family life which I could then lift up to Him.
Secondly, I ask Him to give me peace and protect me from the evil one.
And if the dreams keep on coming I add step three, read and /or recite Scripture before I go to sleep.
May He give you peace and relief!
Hi Lori, if you could get more sleep you would forget all those dreams. Everyone dreams, a lot of us lazy people sleep them off.

Will get back to comment on your post later.
Lori, I am not an expert in analyzing dream...but try this:
ReplyDeleteSometimes, if you’ve been thinking about your dreams too much, you’ll dream about it over and over again in different version. A dream is a sign...so, just beware in anything you do. Some dreams are meaningless and other dreams, you could feel that something is not right or something is going to happen...
If you’ve been feeling stressed or insecure lately, try to relax... Maybe someone is trying to reach you or hurt you or maybe it is about you not accepting
'something' because you keep on running. Sometimes, if you are dreaming about bad things, in reality, it’ll be good things instead.
Just want to share something though. If any of you are dreaming about fish...especially if you catch a very big fish...you’ll receive a very good luck!! ;P
I have been posting about dreams on my site. I have 2 done and will post one more on dream interpretation.
ReplyDeleteDefinately, ask God to show you what your dream means. Obviously, this is not a good dream so it could just be an attack from the enemy. Praise God you've stopped having it.
Stop over at my place an enter a drawing for True Light by Terri Blackstock.
A friend of mine was having bad dreams and she asked Jesus to be in her dreams & He was faithful to help her by coming into her dreams and taking care of the situation. Reoccuring dreams (I heard) can be a sign of depression. My mom used to have one that we were all going to a picnic and we were late and were supposed to bring the bread, but we were always late and could hardly get there.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you very much and I know the Lord will help you - He is the light of Life and there is no darkness (sin, fear, evil or peril) in Him. He is goodness, truth, safety, and faithful! Jill
