Stromboli

My have I been busy! Last week I had to get my twin boy's ready to go on a camping trip with their best friend's. They will be gone until August 10th.

I went to a pig roast on Saturday at our Awana Commander's house. I took two of my grandchildren plus my son Bo. We had a great time. I'll have to share all about it soon.

Tonight my hubby is going to make Stromboli for us for dinner. I thought I'd share the recipe. YUMMY!

Frozen Bread dough - let thaw

1 egg yolk
1 table spoon permasan cheese
1tsp parsley
1tsp oregano
1/2 tsp pepper
2 table spoons oil

Mix together,

Roll out dough, spread mix over dough.

fill with Meat and cheese and veg of your choice.

I love Mild sausage, mushrooms, onions and cheese.

Pinch dough sides together.

Use egg whites - brush over the bread
roll up dough

Bake at 350 degrees for 35 - 45 minutes

This makes 1 loaf

  1. I love stromboli but never thought about using the frozen dough. I put off making it because of the trouble making the dough so maybe now I have no more excuses. Thanks for the little push.

  3. greg C,

The stromboli came out so good. We decided to add sausage, mushrooms, onions, and black olives. It was just my husband and I at home for dinner last night so we got to have all of our favorites. We enjoyed it so much we decided to make another one tonight. Tonight, we are going to try it with Pizza dough. I'd better run and make it. We wanted it to be able to rise all day.

    Kathy,

I sure have a good man. I love it when we can cook side by side. last night was a lot of fun. All three boy's were gone so we got to enjoy each other.

    Love Ya,

    Lori

  10. Lori, I've never eaten stromboli. It sounds good, I'd put sausage, mushrooms, onions and cheese in mine also.
Maybe they are like large Lean Pockets, I make those a lot. The good thing about them is the two minute to meal time.

  12. Jim,

You are sooo funny! If you don't like to cook you might want to stick with the Lean Pockets. LOL!

    E-mom,

Oh, I've been so bad about blogging. I sit down to blog and the words that used to flow from my fingers just won't come. The pig roast was a lot of fun but for some reason I never sat down to write about them. Don't forget about me for next month's marriage Monday. I should be back and ready to go soon.

    Love,

    Lori
