Happy Birthday B.C.

It's my son B.C.'s 29th birthday today. We are going to get together next Tuesday evening to celebrate his Birthday and my granddaughter Jenna's Birthday. She turns one on Tuesday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SON

Mom loves you!

Living for the simple things in life: My Son's days in the Navy

I have a busy day planned today. I will drop my boy's off at school in just a few minutes. I then have to get Bo up and feed him breakfast and get him dressed and ready for school. I need to exercise, clean my house, shower and head out the door to take Bo to school.

I have an appointment at 9:15 a.m. and another one at 10:15 a.m. I then have to get 15 chairs from church and take them to a friend who will be borrowing them until Saturday. That will leave me enough time to get to my motor route and then off to Worship team practice. I'll head home for a few hours before going to work tonight.

No time for playing around today.

Auburn Hills Josh Groban Tickets

WHOOOOOHOOOOOO, I get to play tomorrow!!! I have my house cleaning job to go to in the early a.m., I will be doing only one of my motor routes tomorrow. I took one of them off because I have a very exciting evening planned. My friends and I are going to dinner and then we are going to see Josh Groban in concert at the Palace. Josh Groban here I come!

I can't wait to see him in concert! (I sound very immature! Oh well, for one night, I will be immature)

  1. Enjoy your concert, Lori! You sound like a regular groupie.
Have you lost any weight yet? I'm sure you have lost the 'fullness' weight the first day.
I need about twice your amount of calories and I would still lose a little weight. Also I don't eat but one or two egg yolks a week because of the chloresterol.
Best wishes on he diet. :)

  10. Jim,

I really enjoyed the concert! One of the friends I went to the concert with reads my blog and seen this comment. We both got a big laugh out of it. "Groupies". I guess that is what you would call us.

Yes, I have lost five pounds on this new diet. My husband uses just the egg whites when he makes his eggs. I do understand what you are talking about with your Cloresterol.
Thank you for the birthday wish for my oldest son. I'll tell my daughter-in-law to show him this post.

I can almost hear you singing Happy Birthday to my son! : )

  11. pea,

"You Raise Me Up" is my favorite Josh Groban song also. He closed the concert with this song. It was awesome! This man has such a great voice and a wonderful band to back him up. I can't wait until he comes to my home town again.

    Emom,

I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this concert. These are the people he had with him. It just gives me chills thinking about how awesome it all sounded.

    Lucia Micarelli

Born in New York, raised in Hawaii, Lucia Micarelli has studied violin since the age of three, and made her debut with the Honolulu Symphony at the age of six. After returning to New York, Lucia enrolled in the famous Julliard School of Music where she trained for her career in classical music. At age 17 she enrolled in the Manhattan School of Music, studying under Pinchas Zuckerman. With Josh Groban's "Groband," barefoot Lucia performs as solo violinist. Her first CD, "Music From A Farther Room" is available in stores and online. The hauntingly beautiful music from Lucia's violin is unforgettable.

    Tariqh Akoni

Tariqh Akoni, guitarist with the Groband, grew up with a love of music and began taking lessons on the guitar when he was in his teens. He eventually enrolled at the Berklee College of Music in Boston where he studied for six years. In the early 90s he played in bands and toured the Top 40 circuit in Boston where he was exposed to a variety of musicians whose music inspired him. Tariqh's career began to take wings when he moved to L.A. and went on tour with The Backstreet Boys. He credits a lot of his success to his wife who, he says, helps him keep things in perspective. Aside from his expertise as a musician, the one thing that stands out about Tariqh Akoni is that he is just plain nice, and he places a great deal of emphasis on the importance of being a good person. In this way, he's perfect for the Groband.

    Zachary Porvost

Zachary Provost, pianist with the Groband, and Musical Director for Josh Groban, is also a solo artist who accompanied Josh Groban on his recent tour of Europe and South Africa. He is an accomplished songwriter and was brought together with Josh by music producer David Foster. He also serves as a back-up vocalist on some of the songs Josh sings.

    Tim Curle

I have so far been unable to find any information on Tim Curle. (Come on, Tim...how about a web page with some biographical information?) He presents himself as a cheerful man with, as Josh says, a great deal of energy that he brings to his talent as a drummer. It's hard to catch Tim without a big smile on his face [well, except for the seriousness in the accompanying photo, which is the only one I was able to find of Tim that wasn't part of the entire band]. If anyone knows where to find bio information on him, send me an email and I'll be happy to include it here.

    Craig McIntyre

Second generation Scotsman Craig McIntyre has been playing drums since he was a teenager. Although he now resides in Los Angeles, Craig grew up in Boston. Besides his performances with Josh Groban, Craig has provided drum accompaniment for performers Johnny A, Heather Waters, the Swinging Steaks and the band Our Friend the Atom.

    Eric Holden

Eric Holden studied for three years at Berklee College of Music in Boston and has a versatility that has found him playing in such places as the Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden, the Shrine, Tanglewood, the Hollywood Bowl, and the Grand Ole Opry. He has accompanied Josh Groban on the recent tours of the U.S., Canada, Europe and South Africa. He has appeared on many television programs, including Good Morning America, Conan O'Brien, The Today Show and the American Music Awards. Eric has wisely not confined himself to one genre of music, but has made a name for himself in Rock, Rhythm & Blues, Pop, Country and Gospel Music.

    Chris Botti

Trumpeter Chris Botti, who hails from the state of Oregon, began playing trumpet professionally while he was still in high school. He later moved to New York where he soon became well known as a versatile musician, performing with such famous singers as Aretha Franklin and Bob Dylan. In the early 90s he joined Paul Simon's band and spent five years with that group. Although Chris is most well known as a contemporary jazz performer, he began his career in the Pop field. Recently he has accompanied Josh Groban as the opening act for the Groban concerts. His recordings include the CD, "When I Fall in Love," mellow music for pleasant listening.

Nice post... Looks like flash memory is really beginning to take off. Hopefully we'll start seeing a drop in SSD prices in the near future. Five dollar 32 GB Micro SDs for your Nintendo DS flash card... sounds good to me!
