Grocery shopping Day

Things have been a bit on the busy side for me today. Today was my big "Aldis" grocery shopping day; I had to replenish my shelves. I was suppose to go the week after Christmas but just didn't seem to be able to fit it in. We just hit the local stores and got just what we needed to get by.

The route was a mess today, the ice storm that hit the last few days around here made all my back road muddy and nasty. I couldn't believe all the trees and power lines that were down.

Tonight, I need to rotate all my dry goods to the front of the panty shelves to put the new food in the back. I got 400.00 dollars were of food today so it is going to take me a while to put all the groceries away. The kids had the day off of school today so A.J. said he would go with me to help me. A.J. going made it possible for me to get all the stuff I did. I had three very full carts of groceries.

I guess I'd better get myself busy while the kids are gone to wrestling practice.

I wish I had a pantry where I could store tons of stuff like that. I keep all my home-canned goods in the garage, but don't have room for extra dry good and soups.

My hubby and I are "THIS CLOSE" to planning a kitchen remodel - maybe I'll get one then!

Wow - you have a Aldi's where you live. I used to shop at them in Germany. We don't have them here in AZ. I am glad that you were able to get stocked up.
I love the picture you have in the sidebar...

Blessings on your day and always.

  5. I'm thinking the same thing as the others...that's a lot of groceries, but then it isn't as much as it used to buy, is it.

    Stay safe in the weather.

  6. Karmyn R,

We do have a good size pantry down in our basement. It holds a lot of food. When I go down to Ohio to shop at Aldis, I like to make it worth my while and buy as much non-parishable items as I can. They have soup for .43 cents a can. It is a lot cheaper for me.

Good luck on your remodeling job.

    eph2810,

I love being able to shop at Aldis. With 4 very hunger boy's in the house I need lot of food.

Thank you for the comment about my picture. I really don't have a lot of pictures of myself so this one had to do.

    dot,

    The picture is of Aldis.

I love having everything I need at my fingertips.

    Revee,

I bought a lot of can goods. My boy's each all the time. I like to stock up on things they can fix themselves if they get hungery.

    Beverly,

Indeed money doesn't go as far as it use to but my pantry is full and so is all of my freezers. It will keep me going for a month or so. The things in the pantry will go for a few months.

Blessings to you all and thank you for your comments.
